The Midnight Pumpkin Patch Crochet Blanket - FREE pattern - The Final Chapter - finishing our border.

In this section we are going to work on the border and joining our granny squares to to our blanket. We will neaten up edges to create structure.


In this section you will have to work on modifying, and it will teach you to grow as a maker.

Work a double crochet border in the inner edges of the panels. Taking note of the stitches on the edge of your granny square, as you point of reference for having the right amount of stitches for the join.

 Work a double crochet border in the inner edges of the panels. Taking note of the stitches on the edge of your granny square, as you point of reference for having the right amount of stitches for the join.

 

join your square dc - colour change grass

Follow the video for placement and instructions. Using the two back loops facing the wrong side to each other. (back to back)

 

once all you squares are fixed. you can then start your borders from corner to corner.

MOSS STITCH BORDER 5 & 6

COLOUR CHANGE ROW 5 - BURNT ORANGE

COLOUR CHANGE ROW 6 - FOX

  • Starting chain 2, ch2, 1dc

  • MOSS STITCH - ,skip 1 ch, 1dc, skip 1, ch1 (repeat)

  • CORNER - 1DC, CH2, 1DC

  • REPEAT ON BOTH ROWS around all of the edges.

 

GRANNY CLUSTER STITCH BORDER 7

COLOUR CHANGE ROW 7 - RUSTIC PINK

  • Starting chain of 3, into the corner

  • work 2tr, ch2, 3tr

  • skip the first chain space, chain 1, work 1 granny square cluster into the next chain space.

  • *REPEAT - skip alternative chain spaces, working one granny cluster into the alternative chain spaces.

  • CORNER - GRANNY CLUSTER ( 3tr, 2ch, 3tr)

* TURN YOUR BLANKET SO ITS WRONG SIDE FACING
